The Spanish Government decided to establish an Arabian House and Muslim and Arab World International Research Institute in the frame of the Alliance of Civilizations project.

An Arabian House in Madrid and a Muslim and Arab World International Research Institute in Cordoba will reportedly be established in the frame of the decision taken by the cabinet last Friday on December 8. The explanation reads the annual cost of the institutions will be 10 million euros and 60 percent of this will be financed by the Foreign Ministry. The remaining amount will be financed by the local autonomous administrations of Madrid and Andalusia. The institutions will contribute to the Alliance of Civilizations project, which was started with initiatives of Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and provide an opportunity for the eastern and western world to know each other better. The Wise Men, who came together in the frame of the Alliance of Civilizations conducted by Turkey and Spain cooperatively under the auspice of the United Nations (UN), had realized their first meeting in Mallorca city of Spain recently.
